GOTHIC: weather plays a big part, dreams, sense of mystery, supernatural, revenge, pursued protagonist.SLASHER: death in the first minutes, killing, blood, violence, multiple deaths (same hacker), dark costumes, DYERS THEORY. PSYCHOLOGICAL: play with your mind, ghosts/spirits, gore and blood, antagonist is not always shown, characters are seen as normal humans (not monstrous). PARANORMAL: real, relatable, cameras placed in house, spirits, plays on audience fears, linked to children, everyday items, DYERS THEORY. GORE: lots of blood and gore, weapons, killing, violence, not always a main narrative as long as people are dying, dark colours, stereotypical locations, ALTMAN'S THEORY. FOUND FOOTAGE: stereotypical locations, tense soundtrack, screaming, crying, shouting, unnatural low key lighting, final girl theory.
We can see how paranormal things chase this boy but not only because all the adults are telling lies and manipulating this kid to think other things plkaying with his mind, violence and screaming helps to see the urge in this kid.
